A Conversation With Danny Pruitt of Lord Buffalo
Share
Danny Pruitt is a Stillwater, Oklahoma native, who moved to Austin to pursue his dreams in the music industry. Before meeting with Danny I was expecting a loud, wild, rockstar type, but was pleasantly surprised when I came to meet a subdued and quiet man with a massive beard and kind blue eyes. When asked what he’d be doing if he wasn’t playing music, he gave me a look as if I were jinxing him with such a question. After a glared exchange he said that he would be building custom guitars. He’d already been in the trade working for a few custom guitar companies in the austin area.
When it comes to Lord Buffalo, the band is comprised of Danny and three friends: Garrett Hellman (guitar/keys), Yamal Said (percussion) and Patrick Patterson (violin). Danny and a few others split duties strumming the bass.
The entire band piles into Danny’s 1990 red Suburban and treks to shows from Los Angeles to Oklahoma City. Gear, band members and the open road is how they prefer it. The dream is to be commanding the biggest stages out there. The passion and talent are very much present, so we have no doubt they’ll get there. We at The Bearded Bastard wish them the best of luck.
A self titled album along with a few others, can be found on Apple Music, Youtube and Spotify.
